The aim and objective of this page is to upload the construction of my article. I have done this by taking snapshots during my process of creating the article and explaining what I have done in order to improve step by step.
The first step was to begin writing the article, I started off by typing out a few ideas and then forming them into a colloquial but informative article form. I also began searching for title options and font types, I wanted it to match the Empire style and found a font that looked similar and therefore used that. I also chose my image, It is a screenshot from my film of the main character 'Lily' sat trying to do her exams at school, a key part in the narrative.
The next step was to create a small fact box which included the big six; who, what, when, where, why. This included ;the release date, director, cinematographer, main character, age certificate, producer and star rating. I then coloured in the box a mustard yellow as this was one of my predominant colour themes. I then began adding things such as signs and shapes such as arrows and the three small lines next to the title. This is because in the Empire magazine that I researched I found that they used these symbols on almost every review, therefore I decided to create my own version and used them within my article.
The next step was to create an article format as before it looked unclean and unfinished. I decided to add more text surrounding the image, I then added a new quote on the right hand side to separate the columns, I also added common features in a typical Empire magazine 2 page spread, these were: a black border lining the page, enlarged the images to fit across 2 pages, 2 more mustard coloured arrows, highlighted a word within the quote in the mustard yellow colour and finally a small image of my poster printed within the article.
This is my final article. In the last few steps I added the final details to my article, such as another image from the film, the Empire Logo and writing within the black border running across the bottom of the page. Overall I have enjoyed the process of making this article. I feel that I have reached my targets that I set for myself at the beginning of this process and that my article represents my film well.
