The aim for this page is to understand what my film will be about, I will do this by giving a synopsis, log line, treatment and directors intention.
Directors Intention
Using Pastiche, My story is based on the hit 90s show Absolutely Fabulous, it takes a realist approach to the character of 'Saffron' and her family life. The story portrays an earthly take on modern day living in working class Britain and attempts to provide the audience with a bitter and glum take on Ab Fab.
Synopsis version 1
'Lily' is a 16 year old girl from Brixton, East end London, she lives with her mum 'Alison' a 43 year old Alcoholic and Drug addict. Lily is forced to constantly look after her mother who the majority of the time is absent from Lily's life. We begin with 'Lily's average morning waking up and starting her usual routine before her school day. Lily wakes up at 6 am to a grim and dirty flat, it is still dark outside when she walks into the lounge to find the contents of the night before tipped around the living room. As the story progresses the constant repetition of absence is apparent. Lily's Absent father and mother are never shown within the film. Due to her family situation, lily barely makes it into school, this is vital as she is just about to sit her GCSE's. Her future depends on the next few months of school and her reputation is not in any way shape or form good. Her bad attitude, aggressive behaviour and loud mouth has often stopped her from achieving what she is capable off.

Treatment
The present,6am, London, Acton. A young girl wakes up, we see a 3 second motif of neon flashing coloured letters which then returns the the girl opening her eyes. The girl wanders into her lounge to find bottles of wine, whisky and cigarette stubs tossed around the flat floor. The lounge is dull, dim and very small. Outside, we can see it is still dark but we are un aware of why the flat is such a tip. We assume that it is the young girl that has thrown a student rave as she seems to be the only person in the flat. The young girl looks about 16, she has dark brown hair which is scruffily tied up, her nails are dirty, her pyjamas have dark brown staines splattered across and she lights a fag inside. The girl walks into the kitchen and starts washing her hands violently,
In the kitchen, we can see dirty old pots and pans and the sound of busy London outside. The kitchen is dimly lit. The girl begins to wash her hands, she becomes more aggressive as time goes on. She then lights a cigarette. We then see a short clip of the motif of neon flashing letters seen previously for approximately 3 seconds. The girl walks back into the lounge and attempts to to clean up the mess in the room. We can see the flashing motif of letters cut in and out of the shots of the girl cleaning.
On the first message we hear a woman asking to be let into the house but we are unaware of whom that is , then we see the girls eyes looking downwards as if upset or ashamed. This continues for the next 1 minute with each message slowly becoming more and more aggressive. The girl carries on cleaning and attempts to use disinfectant to get rid of the strong smell of vomit. We are still un aware of who the messages are coming from and who created the mess.
The girl then walks back into the kitchen and starts re washing her hands, with each wash she becomes more desperate to clean her hands thoroughly. We are still un aware who else is in the flat but it is suggested that she is the only one. As she returns to the kitchen, the young girl lights another fag, as she exhales the smoke we see another female mouth, older and more mature smoking. We are then shown who this person is, it is suggested that it is her mother.
The last message is played 'Its mum. Im sorry' . At this point the we can now see the mum on screen whilst the message is playing in the background. A champagne bottle pop is played.
The next scene is in the exam room, the setting is the summer of 2013, she is about to sit her GCSE's. All the other pupils are working on their exam, however because she was not able to revise she falls asleep and does not complete her O Levels.
